I created this artwork in 2024 on a 40×40 cm wooden surface, mounted on a high-quality pine wood frame with a thickness of 38 mm.
It stems from a kind of doodling that many might recognize or have tried at least once: dividing a circle into sections and then filling each one with freehand lines. At its core, it’s a simple idea. I repeated it across several intersecting circles.
Another distinctive feature of this piece is the thickness of the support and the decoration along its edges. The doodling extends beyond the limits of the main drawing, wrapping around the right edge of the surface. This gives the work a sense of three-dimensionality — it adds depth and a tactile quality. The edges, which also carry fragments of the drawing, are delicately finished with silver leaf. This finish reflects ambient light, casting a soft silvery shimmer on the wall behind it and creating a gentle play of light and shadow around the piece.
Into this work, I poured a desire for lightness and for light.
