Coral Orchids v.3

The coral orchid is a bloom born from the fusion of floral elements and decorative motifs inspired by the calcareous skeletons of corals. This is the third in a series of three coral orchids. In this version, the pencil plays a predominant role. The support this time is no longer a sheet of paper but a 5mm thick MDF panel treated with an acrylic base. The pencil strokes on this specific support leave a glossy trace that creates delicate silvery reflections. The decorative pattern, formed by the combination of colored circles and dots, arises from the juxtaposition and overlay of watercolors, pencils, and markers. I believe the hallmark of this design is the delicacy of the lines and the play of light. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the orchid petals are illuminated by multicolored reflections.

It was a meticulous and slow process. Indeed, the coral orchid, to bloom, requires patient attention to detail. But when it blooms, it is for eternity.
